Huys Link Community Initiative (HUYSLINCI), an independent, a not-for-profit, and nongovernmental organization that started in 1999 with a primary goal of building a society where young people enjoy their rights and take responsibility to realize their full potential. In all our undertakings, HUYSLINCI is committed to addressing the needs of the most marginalized and vulnerable young men and women by rendering their voices audible rather than speaking on their behalf, without impact. We facilitate young persons to be the major key players in having their lives transformed, their families improved and their communities bettered. We employ a human rights based approach (HRBA) in our programming and routine.
The persons behind the formation of HUYSLINCI are the one-time beneficiaries of the patronage of Rev. Fr. Wynand Huys who wish to see a continuity of the Reverend’s charitable works and to have children in deplorable circumstances, which they themselves once experienced, supported to fully exploit their potentialities as they prepare their futures.
Rev. Fr. Wynand Huys is a Dutch Mill Hill Missionary who passionately animated the lives of many young Ugandans in the 1980’s and 1990’s who now exhibit and exercise diverse professions and vocations. A number of them form part of the HUYSLINCI’s general assembly (Forum), an avenue through which they give back to vulnerable groups and communities of the now times.
- HUYSLINCI Forum: This is the supreme governing body of HUYSLINCI, composed of founder members and registered members of the organisation.
- Board of Directors (BOD): The management of the organization is under a 7-member BOD, elected by the Forum members. The BOD provides the leadership, policy direction and plays the general advisory role.
- The secretariat: The secretariat runs the day-to-day activities of the organization. The HUYSLINCI Board of Directors recruits and appoints the Executive Director who then heads the secretariat. Currently the Executive Director with support of 17 staff members, runs the secretariat.
